What we see in Nashotah homes

Nashotah takes its name from a Native word meaning “twins,” for the nearby Upper and Lower Nashotah Lakes, and it’s been a crossroads since the Watertown Plank Road came through in 1853. The Red Circle Inn opened nearby in 1848 as a stagecoach stop, and a rail station reaching the area in 1854 carried both lake-bound vacationers and seminarians headed to the Nashotah House mission nearby, though the village itself wasn’t incorporated until 1957. Nashotah stayed small for most of its history, under 600 residents as late as 1990. Subdivisions built in the 1990s roughly doubled the population by 2000, and it reached 1,395 by 2010, so more than half of today’s homes were built after 1990.

That means most Nashotah furnaces and air conditioners are still relatively young, though the earliest of those 1990s subdivisions are now old enough that the original builder-grade equipment is starting to reach replacement age. The older crossroads core near the historic inn and the lakes still has a handful of homes that predate the 1990s boom, usually with more patched-together ductwork than the newer subdivisions around them.

How we work in Nashotah

We find the real cause before we talk about parts, whether it’s a 1990s subdivision house or one of the older homes near the crossroads. You see the readings, you approve a flat-rate price before any work starts, and new equipment is sized with a load calculation instead of guessed at.

How it works

What happens when you call A-1

1

You call or text, any hour

A person answers 414-595-5175, not a call center. We ask a few quick questions and give you a real arrival window, not a guess.

2

We find the actual problem

We test before we replace anything and show you the readings, so you can see what failed and why.

3

You approve a flat-rate price

You get the price before any work starts, with repair and replacement options in writing when both make sense. No hourly surprises.

4

We fix it, test it and clean up

Most repairs are finished on the first visit. We test the system, clean up after ourselves and explain what we did.

Good to know

Nashotah questions we hear most

Most of Nashotah seems pretty new. Is our furnace really old enough to need attention?

A lot of Nashotah’s housing is from the 1990s boom, which means plenty of original equipment is now 25-plus years old and approaching the end of its expected life, even if the house itself still feels new.

We’re near the lakes, not in one of the newer subdivisions. Do you work on older Nashotah homes?

Yes. The handful of homes near the historic crossroads that predate the 1990s growth often have ductwork added over the years, and we check that before recommending anything.

How fast can you get to Nashotah?

About 50 minutes from our South Milwaukee shop. No-heat calls get priority, we give you a real arrival window when you call, and the emergency line is answered 24/7.

“Called on a Saturday and they gave me a time. We were able to get our furnace going ourselves. We called and canceled and he said that is fine and asked what we did. He told us he would have done the same.”
