Mike’s story
Derim “Mike” Vinca has worked in heating and cooling for more than seventeen years: furnaces, steam and hot-water boilers, air conditioning, ductless systems and commercial rooftop units. He owns A-1, still runs the service side day to day, and the number on this site rings his cell.
A-1 Milwaukee Heating & Cooling opened in South Milwaukee in 2014. The rules are simple: diagnose honestly, put the price on paper before any work starts, never sell a system a house does not need, and answer the phone, including at night. A-1 is owned by Derim “Mike” Vinca, veteran-owned, and he still runs the service side and takes calls himself, and the crew around him is seven technicians, from Angel with four years in the trade to David with twenty-five.
How we work
- Flat-rate pricing, quoted and approved before work starts; we charge by the job, not the hour
- Real diagnostics with the readings on paper, and a published repair-or-replace checklist you can hold us to
- Written proposals with two or three options, the price, warranty and rebate for each, and no expiring-today pressure
- Every repair guaranteed for one year, parts and labor; Lennox and Rheem installs registered with the manufacturer carry a 10-year parts and labor warranty
- Installs done to code, with the permit pulled and the inspection scheduled whenever the work requires them, then tested and documented
- An authorized Lennox and Rheem dealer that services and repairs every brand you already own

Someone from the crew on this page. Service calls go to Mike or one of our technicians; installations go to our install crew, with Mike handling the design, the proposal and the final check.
Are you a franchise or a call center?
No. A-1 is an independent company owned by Derim “Mike” Vinca. The number on this site rings him directly, not a dispatch center. We just hold ourselves to the standards the big names advertise.
Do you work on brands other than Lennox and Rheem?
Every day. We are an authorized Lennox and Rheem dealer, and we service and repair every major brand, including Carrier, Bryant, Trane, Goodman, Amana, York, Bosch and Mitsubishi.
