What we see in Lannon homes

Lannon’s roots go back to 1842, when William N. Lannon settled what was then called Lannon Springs, inside the Town of Menomonee. Commercial stone quarrying began in 1855, and stone from the village’s own ground went into St. James Church down the road in 1847. The village wasn’t incorporated until January 1930, after an earlier petition was turned down for including too much quarry land. Quarrying never stopped. Families like the Dawsons, Halquists and Monacellis still run quarries here today, some going back multiple generations, and Lannon stone shows up in buildings across the region.

The housing stock has grown fast in recent years, with 598 units counted in 2020, up from 517 in 2010. New construction sits alongside older homes built for quarry and mill families going back to the 1890s, so Lannon has a wider mix of furnace ages than most villages its size. A house built on or near old quarry ground sometimes has its own quirks in the basement and foundation, which is worth mentioning when you call, even though it rarely changes how we size or install the equipment.

How we work in Lannon

A house near one of the old quarries and a brand-new build get the same honest diagnosis: we measure the real airflow, show you what we find, and give you a flat-rate price before any work starts. New equipment is sized with a load calculation, permitted when the work requires it, and tested at startup.

How it works

What happens when you call A-1

1

You call or text, any hour

A person answers 414-595-5175, not a call center. We ask a few quick questions and give you a real arrival window, not a guess.

2

We find the actual problem

We test before we replace anything and show you the readings, so you can see what failed and why.

3

You approve a flat-rate price

You get the price before any work starts, with repair and replacement options in writing when both make sense. No hourly surprises.

4

We fix it, test it and clean up

Most repairs are finished on the first visit. We test the system, clean up after ourselves and explain what we did.

Good to know

Lannon questions we hear most

Our house is close to one of the old quarries. Does that affect installing a new furnace or AC?

Usually not. A quarry-adjacent foundation can have its own quirks, which we’ll ask about, but it doesn’t change how we size or install standard HVAC equipment.

We’re in a newer Lannon subdivision. Is our system still on a builder’s basic install?

A lot of Lannon’s newest homes are still on their original builder-grade equipment. We’re happy to do a straightforward tune-up and tell you honestly if anything’s worth watching, with no pressure to replace early.

How fast can you get to Lannon?

About 50 minutes from our South Milwaukee shop. No-heat calls get priority, we give you a real arrival window when you call, and the emergency line is answered 24/7.

“We had some inspection repairs in a house that we have for sale that needed to be done right away. I called them and they had a technician give a quote the same day and they finished the job next day…”

“He arrived right on time for a free estimate and was professional, knowledgeable, personable and easy to talk to. While he couldn’t service our 65-year-old oil burner furnace (which, totally understandable!) he was honest about it and went above and beyond by providing contact numbers for specialists who could help.”
