Furnace and AC repair in Big Bend, WI
Big Bend grew up around an 1841 sawmill on the Fox River’s namesake curve, and the area stayed mostly farmland until suburban growth arrived after 1970. We measure the real airflow in older farmhouses and newer homes alike and give you a flat-rate price before any work starts.

What we see in Big Bend homes
Big Bend was incorporated from the Town of Vernon in 1928, but the village grew up decades earlier around a sawmill built in 1841 on the sharp curve in the Fox River that gave the place its name. Lumber stayed one of the area’s biggest industries well into the twentieth century, and farming shifted from wheat to dairy and, for a stretch during and after the Civil War, sheep. As recently as 1970, more than 90 percent of the land in and around Big Bend was still agricultural or rural. A large share of the housing here was built after that, as the interstate and suburban growth reached the village, so plenty of Big Bend’s furnaces and air conditioners are on their second or third system since the 1970s and 80s.
Plenty of homes still sit on larger rural lots near the river, some with a detached garage, pole barn or workshop that was never built with its own heat or cooling in mind. Between the golf courses, the Vernon Marsh and what’s left of the working farms nearby, Big Bend still feels more rural than most of its neighbors closer to Milwaukee, which is exactly why a system sized for a standard subdivision lot doesn’t always fit a Big Bend property.

How we work in Big Bend
A rural property or a 1970s ranch gets the same honest look: we measure the real airflow and the equipment’s actual condition, show you the readings, and give you a flat-rate price before any work starts. New equipment is sized with a load calculation for the house and outbuildings you actually have, permitted when the work requires it, and tested at startup.

How it works
What happens when you call A-1
1
You call or text, any hour
A person answers 414-595-5175, not a call center. We ask a few quick questions and give you a real arrival window, not a guess.
2
We find the actual problem
We test before we replace anything and show you the readings, so you can see what failed and why.
3
You approve a flat-rate price
You get the price before any work starts, with repair and replacement options in writing when both make sense. No hourly surprises.
4
We fix it, test it and clean up
Most repairs are finished on the first visit. We test the system, clean up after ourselves and explain what we did.
Good to know
Big Bend questions we hear most
We have a pole barn or detached garage with no heat. Can you add that?
Yes. A ductless mini-split is usually the simplest way to heat and cool a pole barn, workshop or detached garage that was never ducted, and we size the unit to the space rather than guess.
Our home is on a larger rural lot near the river. Does that change anything?
Not the diagnosis. We still measure the actual airflow and equipment condition rather than go by the house’s age, though a bigger property sometimes means a larger load calculation or a second zone.
How fast can you get to Big Bend?
About 40 minutes from our South Milwaukee shop. No-heat and no-cool calls get priority, and we give you a real arrival window when you call; nights and weekends the line rings Mike’s cell.
